OH MY.... WHAT A DAY!!!

Ok.... so I was going to wait till I got back and give you guys all the wonderful details of this great vacation... but I'm afraid that if I wait even a day to post the events of today that I will really forget about the craziness that was FRIDAY, AUGUST 1st. DAY FROM HELL.. Sorry for the language.. but after you read this you will ALL agree with me.

Ok. So I pick up Abby and Ally from their dads yesterday because they had been in Atlanta for a few days. Abby gets in the car.. and she is bouncing off the walls.... and I think to myself... "yes, one child in a good mood... only one more to go".. NOT SO MUCH. Ally gets in the car.... CRYING. She is just worn out. She had been up all night long and didn't get any sleep. THANKS A LOT CHRIS. So we head home. As we are going home, she starts crying more, saying that she has a headache and that she is going to get carsick... WHAT??? We are 15 mins from home... Well sure enough, as soon as we pull in the driveway, she jumps out of the car and runs to the grass and loses all of her lunch. OK. Well I think to myself. Maybe she had something bad for lunch and she will feel better after a good LONG nights sleep. Well my dad thought it would be a good idea to take her to Walgreens with him, well she even got sick in Walgreens too. WAY TO GO GRANDDADDY. Anyway, she slept fine and didn't get sick anymore.

On a side note, Lance and I were really excited because we had gotten the girls not 1 but 2 DVD players for the car ride today so we just knew that we were sitting pretty for this LONG car ride to Destin. WRONG AGAIN.

So we are up at 3:30 a.m. and out the door at 4:30. All went really smooth. Both girls got up good and were in great moods. And they both were really quite and slept on and off till about 7:30 which was when we stopped for breakfast. Again everything was great till about 9:00 then BOOM.. Ally turns as white as a ghost. I looked back at here and she was not looking good. THANK GOD, I had thought that this may happen and put 3 plastic sacks in the car. So out came her breakfast. So we get her settled and then 5 miles down the road, plastic bag number 2 gets put to use. And so on and so forth. This continues for 2 hours. POOR ALLY. She was so sad, and we had to pull over so many times, and every time she just kept saying.. "mommy, I'm so sorry". It was so pitiful. Finally she falls asleep.

Thanks to the DVD player I don't think that we heard 5 words out of Abby!!!! Expect when Ally yelled at her to turn it down. While Ally was asleep, Abby had a close call herself. For a while I thought that she was going to get sick.

So after 8 1/2 hours. We finally make it. After a start to a day like that you think to yourself... what could possibly happen now, right????? Well... guess what? I'm not done.. The day is not over.

So we get the car unpacked and head to the beach... Well the girls and Lance are playing in the ocean,or as Lance would call it "The Gulf of Mexico", and it was so cute. The waves were crashing and Ally was just getting thrown all over the place. After about an hour of being out there, I hear her screaming and running towards me.. and then Abby said those words that I fear "MOM, ITS A JELLY FISH". And sure enough, Ally has been stung by a jelly fish on day one. After about 15 mins or REALLY CRYING HARD, she is better, and wants to go to the pool. Needless to say.... I guess she is fine. She has since had a shower and been able to actually keep down a bottle of water, and says that her arm is not stinging anymore.

That pretty much just sums up day one of our family vacation. But after all, it is only 5:55 pm. Hopefully it will get better. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE CAR RIDE HOME.
